Iphone Xr Review


Iphone Xr is recently launched and has arrived to certain countries. Apple this year has made a confusing Combination of Software and Hardware with the Iphone Xr. Lets see if the Iphone Xr makes up the mind of people to carry it home.



DISPLAY

We could not talk about the Iphone Xr without considering the display. The Iphone Xr has a 6.1 inch Liquid Retina Display with 828*1792 screen resolution and with 326 ppi pixel density.

Iphone had implemented the OLED’s from the last year’s Iphone X but we don’t know why Apple has made up their mind to go for the LCD option rather than the OLED.

I mean the Display would be great if it were OLED which would also have made Iphone Xr to be a competition with the big leaders as, it has the best screen size. It’s not to big, not to small, it’s perfect for Small as well as Large hands.
The next we notice is the bezel around the Display. We have to live with it when we talk about LCD panels compared to the OLED. The OLED has it’s own energy source compared to the LCD’s which has a flat panel for the energy source that is because we have the small bezel on the corners of the Display.

Yet coming to the Display, the display is not too bad. It’s not comparative with the OLED’s but also slightly dim compared to the 16:9 Aspect Ratio Iphones. It also has some Orange shift when we tilt the Device. But that’s not an issue.


PROCESSOR

Iphone Xr has the A12 Bionic that also runs in the Iphone Xs and Xs Max. The A12 Bionic chip has a 7nm structure with hexa core chip.Apple has great Benchmark Scores when we compare it with other Flagship Processors like the Snapdragon 845 and the Kirin 980.

Iphone Xr is packed with 3 GB of RAM compared to 4GB of the Xs Series.


BUILD QUALITY

Iphone Xr has a Great Build Quality. Although Apple says that The Glass Back of the Iphone Xr is same as the Last year’s Iphone X. It do supports Wireless Charging and is IP67 Water resistant which we consider as a Splash resistant.


CAMERA

Apple has a let the Iphone Xr into the Market with a single camera setup on the back. It is a 12 MP f/1.8 wide angle lens which is capable of doing Portrait photos with just Single lens. It uses AI and Machine Learning for Depth Sensing. 
It also has 2 times faster sensor for HDR capabilities.
We also can control the Depth after the Photo is shot on the Iphone. It is capable of shooting 4K@ 60fps.

The Front Camera is a 7 MP f/2.2 wide angle lens which also is capable of Portrait Selfies. It is capable of Shooting 1080p HD@60fps


OS

Iphone Xr has the iOS 12 out of the box and it is smooth. Apple also has the Neural Engine which is a great advancement over the A11 Bionic Neural Engine. Apple also has removed the 3D Touch on the Xr rather implemented the Haptic Touch. It is not though a Deal Breaker


FACE ID

Apple had introduced the Face ID with the Iphone X when They Removed the Touch ID. This year they say it to be more reliable, fast, more secure.


COLORS

It’s been first time Apple has launched the Iphone Xr in 6 new colours. So there is Black, Blue, Red, White, Yellow and Coral. All the Colours look Great and the finish too looks great.


DUAL SIM

Iphone Xr and also the Xs series do support Dual SIM. The 2nd one being an e-SIM. The carriers are likely to release the e SIM’s in the late 2018.

APPLE A12 BIONIC, Do Apple has a lot to Offer???

Apple had introduced the A11 Bionic chip in 2017 for the Iphone X and claimed to be the fastest chip in the market This year Apple has come up with the A12 Bionic for The Iphone Xs and Iphone Xr range. Lets see what Apple is to offer with the new chipset Apple is up with a Hexa Core Processor this year with 2 High Performance Cores and 4 Energy Efficient Cores.
