Pixel 3 XL, Is it just about the notch????


Google had revealed the Pixel 3XL back on 9th October 2018. The Pixel 3 XL comes with a lot of goodies out of the box like the Android 9.0 Pie, Google’s Squeeze Feature for launching the Assistant and also a huge notch. So lets see if the Pixel 3 XL is worth it with the notch.

EXTERNAL BUILD
The Pixel 3 XL is almost same as the last year’s Pixel 2XL except for the Soft Touch Glass Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the back compared to that of the Aluminium build which felt plasticky and not that premium. Pixel 3 also gets wireless charging support thanks to the full glass back, other than that the Pixel 3 is same as the Pixel 2 in terms of looks as it has the same the two tone back, the same Single Camera setup. But now it feels premium.


DISPLAY

The Pixel 3 XL now has a 6.3 inch 18.5:9 Flexible OLED panel with 1440*2960 screen resolution with a pixel density of 523 ppi. This year Google has made up their mind to be with Samsung for the Screens as these are some great screens. It also doesn’t has the last year’s ridiculous blue tint. The colors on the Pixel also looks bright, vivd, it has great outdoor visibility. Overall it is a great compared to the last year.


 Do any one can forget about the deep notch on the Pixel 3XL , its ridiculously big but is small. Yes, it covers less area compared to that we see on the Apple’s Iphone X lineup.


PROCESSOR

The Pixel 3/3XL comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with onboard 4GB LP DDR4X RAM. It comes with a 2.5 GHz Octa-core processor. I think Google would have opted for the more RAM option like the 6GB or 8GB because its 2018 and Google should up their game as the competitions like Samsung, Oneplus had already opted for the 6GB and 8GB RAM platforms. The Pixel 3 XL also comes with Adreno 630 GPU and Titan M Security chip which they say are used in their own servers.


OPERATING SYSTEM

Pixel 3 XL comes onboard with the latest Android 9.0 Pie and Google promises to [rovide minimum 3 years of OS and Security Patch updates.


CAMERA


 How can anyone resist to talk about the Camera when we came to the Pixel
The Pixel 3XL this year has the same single camera setup like last year’s Pixel 2 XL.
It is a 12.2 MP f/1.8 aperture setup. Google makes some serious software optimisation when it comes about the camera’s as it is able to take Portrait Shots with just Single Camera.
Google has also taken the AI implementations to next level as it recognises objects in the frame, Focuses on the object you tap on, gives Recommendations for the Perfect Shot taken.
The Front Camera setup this year is a 8MP wide f/2.2 and 8MP f/1.8 telephoto lens.
The wide angle setup provides the best wide shot for a ‘Groupfie’.

SPEAKERS

The Pixel lineup is one of the last phones tosport Dual Front Firing Speakers. We had it on the Pixel 2 XL, Razor Phone and it seems it’s going to be last seeing the future of the Displays. The Speakers are pretty loud.


BATTERY

Pixel 3XL has a 3430 mAh Battery which reduced from the last years 3520mAh on the Pixel 2 XL. It could provide easily a full day usability.


GOOGLE ASSISTANT

Google Assistant has been the key feature of the Pixel devices and it’s one of the most loved ones or, it should be. As you can see Google has Implemented a lot of Features in the Assistant like the recent Screen Call Feature which makes the Assistant to take the call and provide a two way communication without the user involved.


 Google Assistant also gets the Triggered when you press the sides of the Phone which Google calls it The ‘Active Edge’.

Iphone Xr Review

Iphone Xr is recently launched and has arrived to certain countries. Apple this year has made a confusing Combination of Software and Hardware with the Iphone Xr. Lets see if the Iphone Xr makes up the mind of people to carry it home. DISPLAY We could not talk about the Iphone Xr without considering the display.
