Huawei had
unveiled the Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro on 16th October 2018. It is the
first Huawei phone to sport the Huawei’s latest 7nm Kirin 980 AI Processor, Box
Shaped Camera setup at the back, curved display and a ton of goodies. Lets see
what Huawei offers onboard the Mate 20 Pro.
DISPLAY
The Mate 20 Pro has a 6.39 inch
OLED Display with the Curved Edges Design same as what we see on the Samsung Flagships. This display has a
1440*3120 resolution with a pixel density of 538 ppi. This display is a 2K
Display.
This Display feels good when it
is compared with the last year Huawei’s flagship the P20 Pro. The Colors look
immersive on the Mate 20 Pro.
PROCESSOR
The Mate 20
Pro onboard comes with the Kirin 980 Processor
which is a 7nm AI Processor
offered by Huawei. Huawei says it has increased the performance to a
considerable level like

75% CPU Performance

|
58% CPU Power
Efficiency Upgrade

|
46% GPU Performance Upgrade
|
|
178% GPU Power

Here are the
Geekbench Scores for the Kirin 980 up against the A12 Bionic and Qualcomm 855
The Mate 20 Pro comes with a 6GB or 8GB
of RAM with an option of 128 or 256 GB Internal Storage.
CAMERA
Now comes the best part for which Huawei is widely famous for is
the Leica Triple Camera Setup. It was in the P20 Pro and now is introduced in
the Mate 20 Pro.
Unlike the Straight Corner Setup on the
P20 Pro, the Mate 20 Pro has a Box Shaped Camera layout on the back with a huge
flash on the back.
There resides 3
Cameras in the Box setup which has a 40 MP Wide Angle main lens with f/1.8
aperture, a 20 MP Ultra wide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and a 8MP Telephoto
f/2.4 aperture. The camera also supports
Huawei AI Image Stabilisation.
The Front Camera setup is a 24MP f/2.0 aperture with 3D
Depth Sensing which helps to take portrait selfies with a single camera
Last Years P20 Pro had already shattered its
competition with a 109 DXO Mark Score.
Lets see if the 2018 flagship can also repeat the 2017 analytics.
OS
Huawei has its own skin over the Android Version which they call it
the EMUI. This time it is the EMUI 9.0 with the Android 9.0 Pie out of the box.
If you are a fan of EMUI, you will love it but if you want stock experience
then it would not bring a smile on your face, Perhaps you will end up using a 3rd
party launcher.
BATTERY
The Mate 20 Pro has a 4200 mAh Battery which is slightly increased
from the last years 4000 mAh on the P20 Pro. Seeing the battery capacity, it
seems like there will be no any issues concerned with the battery life whether
you are a heavy user or a normal one
Also Huawei has bundled a 40W charger which they call it as Huawei
Super Charge which assures a battery percentage of 70% in just 30 min.
IP 68
Certification
Mate 20 Pro comes with IP 68 dust and water resistance which is pretty
good if we consider harsh weather conditions.
REVERSE
WIRELESS CHARGING
This is the world’s craziest yet useful feature any phone
should have, The “REVERSE WIRELESS CHARGING”. Huawei has came up with this
great idea of charging any wireless charging capacitive phone with just placing
the phone on the back of the Mate 20 Pro. Not even back it stars charging even
if u hold both the devices within 1 cm. That is one coolest idea in the 21st
century and Huawei has literally nailed it.
OUT OF
THE BOX
Huawei bundles a USB Type C to
3.5 mm dongle unlike Apple which doesn’t has one.
Also Huawei has also bundled Type
C Headphones like Google has did with the Pixel 3 Lineup. So it’s a good thing
to see headphones out of the box for a phone which doesn’t have a 3.5 mm
headphone jack.
So This is all about the Mate 20
Pro.
